West Coast Electrical & Lighting Services was founded in 1988 in Fort Myers, Florida by Bernie Murphy, who today still owns and operates the company.

Originally called “West Coast Fire Equipment,” Bernie and his team focused on providing fire alarms and extinguishers to businesses and residential communities, but soon expanded to emergency lighting and then all types of commercial lighting.
